Will you clean rugs in my home? Can I just Steam Clean my Rugs?
If you have a handmade rug there are several risks/results of doing steam cleaning. The solution used in steam cleaning is an extremely high PH which is very aggressive and meant to cut grease on wall to wall carpeting, not rugs. This will dry out/damage the wool over years as it remains in the wool. In addition, the aggressive solutions will often make the dyes run and bleed. If a rug starts bleeding few know what to do to stop the bleeding and not have major damage to their beautiful rug. IF you are still willing to take the risk, be sure and ONLY clean the direction of the nap. Do not go against the nap when wet… you can damage and make stripes on your rug that will be difficult or impossible to remove. We do NOT recommend steam cleaning unless the fiber is synthetic: Olefin, Polypropylene, Nyon, Polyester. A rug properly cleaned in shop will take up to several hours to clean through the 8-step process. A rug cleaned in the home, in no way duplicates the process that we provide in the shop. Do NOT clean wool rugs in the home. For more information on the risks of steam cleaning your rug check out our rug cleaning FAQ videos page.
How much will it cost to clean my rug?
There are too many factors that determine the cost without speaking with you. Please call us or send us a message so we can help determine rug cleaning solutions and we’d be happy to discuss it with you. If you know the size, and fiber of the rug this will help in providing you a cost estimate. We will give you an approximate cost over the phone. We offer several different package plans based on your needs.
Can you remove stains?
With our experience and knowledge, we are often very successful in removing stains; however some stains once set- or if left unattended to long will simply not come out. If there is color loss from a spill or from using aggressive spotters, we can sometimes recolor them in our repair shop.
